We’re excited to announce that a native version of Minecraft is coming for Nintendo Switch™ 2! This version of Minecraft is optimized to take advantage of the console’s more powerful hardware – and what’s exciting is it also allows us to bring Vibrant Visuals to the Switch 2!

Vibrant Visuals is Minecraft’s biggest visual graphics update to date, and it’ll come enabled as the default graphics setting in the native Switch 2 version!

Released in June 2025 alongside our Chase the Skies update, Vibrant Visuals transforms the way players experience Minecraft – with improved visual elements such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, and more. The result is dazzling – shadows move as the sun arcs across the sky, sunshine reflects in the water, light plays on the bottoms of lakes, and clouds appear infinite as they stretch far into the distance.
